St. Patty's Day

Search for the pot of gold:

Create a fun scavenger hunt to search for coping skills!  The concept I practiced with this activity is to role-play anger, asking my client to name an example then show me what he looks like when he is angry.  For each foot print he named a coping skill for anger, which led to the "pot of gold" and happy feelings!

To make the leprechaun feet we used paint on the side of my clients hand, then he used his finger to make the toes.

A rainbow of emotions:

Assigning a feeling to each color can help your client recognize and recall their emotions.  Ask them to name a time they felt each feeling and why they associate the color they chose for that emotion.

 Why are you lucky?

Help your client understand the concept of showing appreciation by coming up with positive aspects of your clients life, family, etc. This is also a great way to begin conversations about recent family and friend interactions.

Good luck and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
